Hi there !

I’m Kristin — the owner, baker, and creative behind Biker Chic Cupcakes, located in West Des Moines, Iowa.

My story isn't what you'd expect. I didn’t take the typical path into baking. I spent several years as a pharmaceutical sales rep and later as a healthcare administrator, earning my master’s degree in health care administration from Des Moines University along the way. But in 2020, like so many others, I was laid off for a few months during the pandemic. With endless time on my hands, I started baking and decorating to keep busy — and something just clicked.

What began as a side hustle slowly transformed into a full-time business that I’ve now been running for the past two years.

I specialize in custom sugar cookies, cupcakes, and cakes — all homemade, hand-rolled, cut, and decorated with care. Every order is made from scratch and tailored to the occasion, whether it’s a wedding, baby shower, birthday, corporate event, or just a “thinking of you” treat.

People often find my story surprising, but the truth is, I’ve never felt more at home. Creating something meaningful for others — and seeing the joy and smiles my work brings — is the most rewarding part of what I do.

When I’m not baking, I love riding motorcycles, traveling, going to concerts, live sporting events, ALL things KC Chiefs, and finding new ways to create!
