Hi there !

I’m Kristin; the owner, baker, and creative behind Biker Chic Cupcakes, located in West Des Moines, Iowa.

My story isn't what you'd expect. I didn’t take the typical path into being a full time creator. I spent several years as a pharmaceutical sales representative and later as a healthcare administrator, earning my master’s degree in health care administration from Des Moines University along the way. But in 2020, like so many others, I was laid off for a few months during the pandemic. With endless time on my hands, I started baking and decorating to keep busy and something just clicked.

What began as a side hustle slowly transformed into a full-time business that I’ve now been running for the past three years.

I specialize in custom sugar cookies, cupcakes, and cakes; all homemade, hand-rolled, cut, and decorated with care. Every order is made from scratch and tailored to the occasion, whether it’s a wedding, baby shower, birthday, corporate event, or just a “thinking of you” treat.

People are often surprised by my story, but I’ve never felt more like myself than I do now, whether I’m in my studio creating or designing your specialty cake or sugar cookie set on my iPad. This work, creating meaningful, custom pieces that bring people joy, is exactly what I’m meant to be doing.

When I’m not creating, you can find me riding my motorcycles, traveling to new places and familiar ones that I love, going to concerts, cheering on the KC Chiefs, or blasting hard rock music with the windows down (weather dependent of course) … or cranked up in the studio during an all-day baking / decorating marathon.

Getting to create something that becomes part of your story is the best part of mine.
